The Pomapoo is the result of a Pomeranian breeding with a Poodle. As such, Pomapoos can grow to a relatively small size of 8 to 12 inches (or 20 to 30 cm), weighing in at 10 to 15 pounds (or 4.5 to 6.8 kilograms). Pomapoos usually inherits more of its appearance from their Pomeranian ancestors, usually having upright, pointy ears. Their coat characteristics vary from dog to dog, and can either be straight, curly or wavy.
Activity Level
Pomapoos are very active, despite not being built for strenuous exercise. They are capable of having a field day both indoors and outdoors. Because of their high energy level, they are more likely to frequently request for a playmate from their owners. As such, their playful nature makes them a popular choice among little children.
Temperament
A Pomapoo's temperament may vary between a mixture of a Poodle's more docile nature and a Pomeranian's slightly aggressive nature. As such, a Pomapoo may be compelled to bark incessantly during its early days under a person's ownership. Also, the same qualities make Pomapoos great watchdogs. This, however, can be curbed to an extent that they retain their watchdog capabilities while remaining more docile and silent, when trained from young.
Characteristics
Pomapoos have quite a thirst for social interaction, and can get along well with most people, even other pets (including cats). Be ready to entertain to their need for social interaction often since Pomapoos can get depressed if their thirst for social interaction is not quenched sufficiently.
Pomapoos are also gifted with a fairly high amount of intelligence, and are relatively easy to train. As such they are fairly capable of learning many tricks and easy to housebreak.
Health
Because hybrid breeds are usually less plagued by the diseases common to their ancestors' breed, Pomapoos are known to be a pretty healthy breed. Pomapoos, however, are known to have teeth problems though. Thus, necessary precautions should be taken to minimize the impact. Another health issue about Pomapoos is that because Pomapoos are still a relatively new species, owners will need to be prepared for other diseases they may not have read about. Other than that, Pomapoos can usually be expected to live for about 13 to 16 years.
If you are looking for a pet that really wants and likes your attention, gets along great with children and other household pets, and relatively easy to housebreak, then it's worth considering getting a Pomapoo.
